In marking the start of the 76th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, a flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Kampong Sungai Liang Community Hall on Saturday.
Acting Penghulu of Mukim Liang and Village Head of Kampung Sungai Liang Mohammad Haszrin bin Bagol was the guest of honour.
Acting Village Head of Kampong Lumut 1 Taib bin Haji Salleh, Acting Village Head of Kampong Lumut 2 Haji Khairdoon bin Haji Dahlan, and Acting Village Head of RPN Kampong Lumut Pengiran Ahmad bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, as well as residents from Kampong Lumut and Kampong Sungai Liang also attended.
The ceremony saw the handing over of the national flag by the guest of honour to Sungai Liang Joint Association members.
The hoisting of the national flag was accompanied by the singing of the national anthem.
