The Brunei-Muara District Office conducted a national flag-hoisting ceremony in celebration of the 78th birthday of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam. The ceremony took place on Monday at the parking area of the Brunei-Muara District Office.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs, Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, attended as the guest of honour. The event commenced with the presentation of the Brunei national flag to personnel from the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), who subsequently hoisted the flag while the national anthem, “Allah Peliharakan Sultan,” was sung.
Following the flag hoisting, the Deputy Minister presented the national flag and certificates of appreciation to Penghulus, Acting Penghulus, Village Chiefs, various organisations, associations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), representatives from higher learning institutions, the Brunei Muara District Office, RBPF, the Fire and Rescue Department band, the National Service Programme (PKBN), and the choir team from Sayyidina Husain Secondary School. – ROKIAH MAHMUD
