Five teams have sealed their passage in the knock-out phase of the 3rd Veteran Football Association (VFA) Veteran 9-a-side Football Championship 2023 following qualification from the group stage at the Tutong Sports Complex.
The five teams – VJ Mix Sqd, Azam FT, AH United, Mumtaz B, and BUV (as the best third-placed team) – will continue their pursuit for the title when they resume play in the quarterfinals on October 15.
The four-week long competition, will continue on Sunday with four teams hoping to fill the remaining three slots to complete the quarterfinal line-up.
Following the completion of the first two group matches, the resumption of the tournament will involve Vetr 90s, Legend Veteran, RVFT, and Mumtaz A battling it out in Group ‘C’.
The top two teams will automatically advance to the last eight while the third-placed team must have a better record than the current second-best third-placed team to progress.
Twelve teams entered the veteran meet including eliminated RBV, Deno FC Veteran and PH. – Fadhil Yunus
