Royal Brunei Airlines (RB) has been awarded a five-star rating in the ‘Major Airline’ category by Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX). The Brunei national carrier received the award at a ceremony in California, the United States on Wednesday.

Acting Chief Operations Officer of RB Haji Badarudin bin Haji Bagol accepted the award on behalf of RB.

Chief Executive Officer of RB Captain Sabirin bin Haji Abdul Hamid said, “RB is honoured to receive this prestigious five-star award from APEX, joining an exclusive league of elite airlines worldwide.

“Our service philosophy revolves around delivering excellence infused with warm Bruneian hospitality. This award underscores our dedication to going the extra mile from the heart. It’s a testament to the efforts of RB’s exceptional team, both in the air and on the ground, in Brunei and overseas.

“We extend our gratitude to our passengers for their support and recognition, and my thanks to the entire Team RB for their work, which has paved the way for us to achieve the prestigious APEX Five Star Rating.”

APEX CEO Dr Joe Leader said, “Maximising their fleet of just over a dozen aircraft with the best of design and service, RB has showcased what it means to reach aviation excellence as a 2024 APEX Five Star Major Airline. From the spaciousness of their Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s business class cabin to the attention to passenger comfort, every detail is thoughtfully curated. Their business class seats, offering an 11 per cent larger surface than most in-flight beds, ensure travellers arrive at their destinations rested and rejuvenated.

“RB’s in-flight dining experience, reminiscent of a fine-dining restaurant, coupled with their state-of-the-art Panasonic eX2 entertainment system, ensures passengers are engaged and satiated throughout their journey.”
