A two-day international seminar on Usuluddin education is scheduled to be held at the Tarbiah Hall of the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) on August 16 and 17.
Faculty of Usuluddin Dean Dr Norashibah binti Haji Besar, as Chairperson of the seminar, said during a press conference yesterday that the seminar is organised by KUPU SB in collaboration with Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
She added that five main papers will be delivered during the seminar including the premier paper by State Mufti Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned; the main paper I will be presented by Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia’s (UKM) Institut Islam Hadhari Director Dato’ Dr Fariza Md Sham and; paper II by Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) Deputy Vice-Chancellor Dato’ Zulkiple Abdul Ghani.
The main paper III is scheduled to be delivered by KUPU SB Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar and paper IV by head of graduates studies programme at UNISSA Associate Professor Dr Kamaluddin Nurdin Marjuni.
Themed ‘Empowering the Quality of Da’ie’, the seminar aims to provide a platform to delve into strategic issues around dakwah to strengthen preaching efforts and strengthen relationships, understanding and exchange of ideas among scholars in the field of Usuluddin. – Rokiah Mahmud
