The Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) detained five, including locals and foreigners, for their allegedly involvement in a brawl using a weapon in Mukim Limau Manis on July 19.
The RBPF, in a statement released yesterday, said a report was lodged through the police hotline around 10.40pm of a brawl that had resulted in serious injuries.
Enforcers from the Limau Manis Police Station rushed to the scene where they found two local men with serious injuries.
They also learnt that those involved in the brawl already had left the scene of the incident.
The victims were rushed to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital for treatment.
The case is being investigated under Chapter 22, Section 326 of the Penal Code, causing serious injuries with a weapon. The suspects, if found guilty, can face imprisonment of up to 15 years and whipping.
The RBPF is seeking public assistance on the incident and urged those with information to call police hotline at 993 or any police station. – James Kon
