Five companies in Mukim Kilanas and Mukim Sengkurong have been fined BND250 for obstructing public spaces, the Department of Town and Country Planning said yesterday.
The companies were first time offenders and were given seven days to settle fines.
The department said the companies were found to be obstructing walkways, driveways, parking spaces and landscapes meant to be used by the public with goods.
“These offences can affect the public’s safety and well-being of the surrounding areas,” said the department. The Planning Authority reminded the public and business owners to comply with the planning laws and obtaine planning permission for any development and use of land.
