Five companies and 22 individuals were fined for illegal waste disposal following several operations conducted by the Brunei-Muara District Office from October 3 to 12.
The operations took place in Mukim Sengkurong, Mukim Kilanas and Mukim Pangkalan Batu.
Four companies were issued BND2,000 fines while one was issued a BND6,000 fine.
Three individuals were fined BND1,000, two with BND500 and 17 with BND100.
All companies and individuals were fined according to the Miscellaneous Act.
The district office said it is seeking public cooperation in combating illegal waste disposal. The public can provide the office with locations and pictures through the department’s WhatsApp. – Lyna Mohamad
