The First Meeting of the 41st National Day Celebration Executive Committee 2025 was held yesterday, where it focused on progress reports and proposals related to ongoing preparations, proposed dates and venues, logo and theme suggestions, as well as schedules for rehearsal of the main celebration.
The meeting, at Digadong Hall of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports building, was jointly chaired by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad; Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid and Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh as co-chairs.
The meeting also discussed the procedures and crowd management for the grand assembly, Doa Kesyukuran ceremony, national cycling event, Khatam Al-Quran ceremony and other related activities.
Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi said, “The success of the 40th National Day celebration has become the proof of patriotism and unity of the people of Brunei. The colouful and livening event has brought happiness to all levels of the community while highlighting the spirit of Malay Islamic Monarchy (MIB) that has become the pillar of the nation. By utilising the whole-of-nation approach, it shows effectiveness and I am confident that such approach will continue to be our main platform.”
He added, “The success of the celebration is the result of the hard work and unity of all parties ranging from school students, youth and officers from public and private sectors.
The spirit of cooperation, sincerity, and a sense of pride towards the country is clearly reflected throughout the celebration.
“We should also feel grateful for the opportunity to hold the upcoming 41st National Day grand assembly celebration for 2025. Hopefully the celebration will inject the spirit of nationalism and belonging for the people and residents of this country to always maintain harmony, unity and mutual understanding.”
Chief of Adat Istiadat Negara Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Indera Setia Diraja Sahibul Karib Pengiran Anak Haji Idris bin Pengiran Maharaja Lela Pengiran Muda Abdul Kahar with Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof who is the co-advisor were among those present at the meeting. – James Kon
