In conjunction with the start of the 2023 academic year, Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh visited several schools in the Tutong District namely Pengiran Dipa Negara Pengiran Jaya Sengkarai Primary School, Muda Hashim Primary School and Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School.
Among the objectives of the visit were to review the implementation of back-to-school activities, observe school infrastructure and facilities such as staff rooms, school halls and libraries as well as the implementation of the Learning Recovery Programme to overcome learning loss and learning gaps as a result of school closures due to the spread of COVID-19.
The minister started the visit at Pengiran Dipa Negara Pengiran Jaya Sengkarai Primary School, and was welcomed by the school’s principal Nurkara’en binti Haji Tuneh.
During the visit, the minister had the opportunity to witness the back-to-school activities held in groups in four locations: the school’s hall, library, conference room and playground area.
The minister also had the opportunity to interact with teachers and students during the visit.
The minister and delegation continued their visit to Muda Hashim Primary School where they were welcomed by principal Sanah @ Bazlaa’ Hasanah binti Haji Daud.
Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah observed back-to-school activities and visited classrooms where she interacted with the students and gave a motivational speech.
The minister then headed to Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School where the delegation was welcomed by principal Eddy Nazrin bin Haji Seruji.
Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah inspected the school infrastructure to make sure there are adequate facilities to ensure a conducive teaching and learning environment. She also met with the students. The visit ended with a group photo session.
