Firefighter assisted in retrieving a road accident victim across a drainage near the traffic light junction at Kampong Junjongan heading to Kampong Lumapas on Thursday.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), four firefighters from Sungai Kebun Fire Station led by ABK 560 Haji Ali bin Haji Md Noor, responded to the incident after receiving a distress call at 6.18pm.
Firefighters found the vehicle had overturned to the side of the drainage, while the victim had exited from the vehicle before firefighters’ arrival.
The victim, retrieved using a stretcher and an extension ladder to cross the drainage, was handed over to paramedics.
The FRD advised the public to ensure their vehicles are in good condition and to regularly check the vehicle pump for leakages. Road users must always comply with traffic laws and regulations, focus while driving, wear seat belts, and take extra precaution during rough weather conditions.
