Seven personnel from the Sungai Liang Fire Station rescued a trapped road victim involved in a heavy vehicle crash on the Lumut Bypass Highway on Friday.
Led by DSO Mohd Said bin Abdullah, the firefighters found the victim, a male permanent resident, trapped in a heavy lorry vehicle that had flipped on its side.
The authorities believe the incident to be a self-accident.
The firefighters broke open the glass window to remove the victim from the vehicle, while closing the roads to clean up the oil spill and broken glass following the accident.
The victim removed within two minutes following the firefighters’ arrival, was handed over to the paramedics.
The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) reminded the public to ensure that their vehicles are in good condition and that proper maintenance is carried out at certified workshops.
