Firefighters rescued and released a monkey that was entangled in a net of a longan fruit tree in Kampong Lumapas on Wednesday night.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), four firefighters from Sungai Kebun Fire Station led by ABK 549 Roslan bin Haji Ahmad reponded to a call asking for the rescue of a wild animal at 9.21pm. Upon arrival, firefighters found a monkey entangled in a net on top of a longan tree, before freeing it.
The FRD reminded the public to keep livestock in to avoid unnecessary incidents as well as to close all windows and doors when not at home to avoid wild animals from entering. The FRD also warned the public approach wild animals.
