Swift action by firefighters led to the containment of a fire at the dumping area of a shop in Kampong Rimba in 10 minutes last Friday afternoon.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), 10 firefighters from the Rimba Fire Station Operation ‘C’ Branch, led by Acting ASO Shahril bin Abdul Rasid, responded to the incident around 2.04pm, extinguishing a huge blaze at the garbage dump area behind a shop.
Firefighters also stopped another fire from spreading at a two-storey house in Kampong Batu Ampar last Friday. No casualties were reported.
According to the FRD, 10 firefighters from the Pengkalan Batu Fire Station and two from the Jerudong Fire Station Operation ‘F’ Branch, led by ASO Haji Akup bin Haji Aliusin, responded to a call reporting a house fire incident at 6.16pm.
On arrival at the scene, the firefighters found the dining room and part of the living room engulfed in flames. The fire was contained in two minutes.
