Firefighters clear fallen trees

Two vehicles were damaged after a 10 metre-long tree fell on the vehicles in a compound of a house in Kampong Batu Apoi, Temburong District on Friday.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), six firefighters led by ABKS 696 Mohammad Haidar bin Abdullah Chin were dispatched to the scene following an emergency call.

Firefighters found a fallen rubber tree in the compound of a home that damaged two vehicles parked nearby.

Firefighters took an hour to cut the tree and clear the debris. No injuries were reported.

Meanwhile, a 10-metre long tree damaged the roof of a house as well as blocked the entire road in Kampong Ujong Jalan Temburong District on Wednesday night.

According to the FRD, 10 firefighters with two fire engines, led by ABKS 642 Haji Rosmadi bin Haji Ibrahim, responded to a distress call at 7.43pm.

On arrival, firefighters found that the huge fallen tree had blocked an entire road and damaged the roof of a house.

The team took an hour to cut and remove the tree from the area.

The FRD reminded the public to be vigilant, especially during unpredictable weather conditions and avoid planting trees too close to residences.
