Some 126 students of Tanjung Kindana Primary School in Kampong Sungai Bunga participated in an evacuation and fire exercise recently.
According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), the training exercise was hosted by FRD’s Public Relations Division, Sungai Kebun Fire Station led by ABK 579 Yusof bin Haji Ahmad and Pelancaran Fire Station led by ABK 3 Sandin bin Jair with two firefighters from Operation ‘D’ Branch. The students and school staff learnt about fire safety through theory and practical sessions, including ways of saving oneself from being trapped in the event of a fire, evacuation procedures and the importance of having fire extinguishers and fire blankets.
In attendance during the training were Operation ‘D’ Branch Commander Senior Superintendent Muhd Shahreeni bin Haji Muhd Yussof and Deputy Commander Superintendent of Fire and Rescue Mohammad Sophian bin Haji Mohd Yusuff.
