A saloon car was destroyed by a fire on Friday when the vehicle burst into flames at KM73 of the Muara-Tutong Highway.

Ten firefighters and two fire engines from the Tutong Fire Station were dispatched after receiving an emergency call, the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) said.

The firefighters had the fire under control within three minutes.

No one was injured during the incident.

The cause of the fire and estimated loss are under investigation.

The FRD reminded the public to ensure vehicles are in good condition before use, such as making sure there are no leakages that can cause flammable liquid to flow to the hot engine block or electric system which can spark fire.
