A double-storey vacant house at Kampong Tasek Meradun was destroyed by a blaze early yesterday.
The Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) on receiving an emergency call at 4.42am, deployed three fire engines with 16 firefighters from Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Station and Beribi Fire Station to combat the blaze.
The firefighters, led by acting SO Sohardi, arrived at the scene to find a blaze had engulfed the house.
Firefighters extinguished the fire using three jet hoses and water obtained from fire hydrants and tanks.
The fire was brought under control in five minutes. – James Kon
