Three accredited fire marshals at Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) extinguished an electrical fire at the premises on Wednesday.

The fire occurred around noon and three JPMC staff extinguished the blaze using the dry powder fire extinguishers before firefighters arrived.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD), five firefighters from the Jerudong Fire Station, led by DSO Yusof bin Bujang of Operation ‘F’ Branch, responded to the incident.

On arrival, firefighters ensured the fire had been put out completely. The cause and cost of damages are under investigation. No injuries were reported during the incident.

The public is reminded to ensure their homes are equipped with fire extinguishers of the dry powder type, along with fire blankets and battery-operated smoke detectors.

The FRD added that any installation of wiring and electrical equipment should be done by qualified technicians, and to make sure electrical appliances are switched off when not in use, and cover or unplug gas regulators after use.
