Fines, warnings for companies violating Price Control Act

Action was taken against seven businesses for failing to comply with the Price Control Act last month, the Department of Economic Planning and Statistics (JPES) at the Ministry of Finance and Economy said in a statement yesterday.

Six business premises were found selling several types of cooking oil above the maximum price set during a routine inspection. Meanwhile, another business was found without price tags on some types of vegetables and fruits being sold.

Five warning notices were issued on the businesses. Two shops in Kampong Lambak and Kampong Tanjung Bunut exceeded the maximum price and payment set by the price controller on cooking oil products and were each slapped with a BND500 fine. – Azlan Othman
