Three companies in Tutong District were levied with a BND200 fine each on Thursday by the Enforcement Unit of Tutong District Office for the violation of Chapter 30 of Miscellaneous Offences Act which is leaving rubbish in public areas.
All three companies must settle the fine within seven days. If failing to do so, the companies will be brought to court and can face a fine of at least BND2,000 and not more than BND10,000. The second and subsequent offences will see a penalty of no less than BND10,000 and no more than BND30,000 or imprisonment of no more than 12 months, or both.
