Finding hidden potential

Twenty-seven individuals recently completed the LiveWIRE Leadership Camp held at the Trandie Marina Resorts in Temburong District.

Students from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) and officers from Progresif Sdn Bhd, the Prisons Department, Al-Islah Centre and the Youth Development Centre graduated from the three-day-two-night programme, which aimed to instil leadership values and explore their hidden capabilities.

Participants went through five theory and two practical sessions.

In the theory sessions led by Senior Business Counsellor of Shell LiveWIRE Brunei Mohd Fadhilullah Tudun @ Hasbullah Bobby bin Hassan, participants were tasked to list down their own positive and negative characteristics while finding similarities between their existing leadership traits with another leader of their choice. Participants also learnt psychological and sociological concepts such as Eight Keys of Excellence, Johari’s Window and Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.

The physical sessions included a jungle trekking through Temburong forest, water rafting and obstacle course, led by guides from Trandie Marina Resorts.

During the session, participants were accompanied and monitored by the Shell LiveWIRE Brunei’s supervisors on how well the participants led and motivated others as well as how they performed as team players.
