Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) pledged BND 17,751.15 to assist with the redevelopment of houses affected by the recent fire in Kampong Setia ‘B’, reflecting the bank’s commitment to supporting the community and reinforces its core values of being ‘Bruneian at Heart’.
The financial aid will help cover essential building materials, allowing affected residents to rebuild their homes and restore their lives.
BIBD’s initiative also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 1: No Poverty, by ensuring vulnerable families are supported in their recovery; Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, through the redevelopment of housing that fosters a safe and resilient environment; and Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by collaborating with government authorities to provide impactful assistance.
BIBD’s support underlines its commitment to standing by the local community during times of hardship, forming part of its broader strategy to deliver meaningful and sustainable aid.
