Final leg of Raya festivities

Gleneagles JPMC

Gleneagles JPMC, specifically the Cardiac Rehabilitation Unit, organised a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration and gathering with the patients of cardiac rehab at Parkview Hotel, Jerudong.

Gleneagles JPMC Chief Operating Officer ‘Izzul Hamzi bin Haji Jomari was the guest of honour.

‘Izzul Hamzi highlighted that the Cardiac Rehabilitation programme is recognised as an important element in reducing the risk of associated mortality, and improving cardiovascular function to help patients optimise their quality of life after undergoing angioplasty and also surgery.

The event also featured activities including games and lucky draw.

PESAKA

The Persatuan Melayu Keriam (PESAKA) held a Rumah Terbuka Aidilfitri at the Dewan Wawasan PESAKA in Kampong Keriam, Tutong District yesterday.

Acting Tutong District Officer Mohammad Sofian bin Haji Basri was the guest of honour.

The celebration saw stage performances by PESAKA members as well as a colouring competition for children below 12 years old.

Former customs superintendents

Some 29 former superintendents of the Royal Customs and Excise Department hosted a Hari Raya gathering at the residence of former Superintendent of Customs Haji Mohamad Haji Omar in Jalan Jerudong on Saturday.

The event, organised by the alumni, started with a congregation for Isyak prayers followed by a Tahlil for fellow colleagues who have passed on. The attendees also brought home gifts from a lucky draw.

Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam

The Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam hosted orphans from Berakas Secondary School and single mothers at a ceremony in conjunction with Hari Raya.

Pakistani High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Major General (Rtd) Farhat Abbas Sani, high commission staff along with their families and Pakistani community members extended good wishes for the success and happiness of Bruneian children.

Permanent Secretary (Sports) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, guest of honour, inaugurated the “Share Pakistan” enclosure.

The enclosure will help Bruneians, life especially children, including children of the Pakistani community living in Brunei, to know Pakistan better and help in connecting people of the two countries and in promoting trade, tourism and cultural exchanges.

The event was organised in collaboration with Kris Karmila Kreations and Berakas Secondary School management.

Kampong Sungai Kedayan ‘B’

A Hari Raya celebration with orphans in Kampong Sungai Kedayan ‘B’ was held at Salma Hall I of Impiana Jaya Complex, Kiulap recently. The celebration was organised by its committee members, former residents of Kampong Sungai Kedayan ‘B’.

Chairman of the organising committee Haji Abdullah bin Haji Metassim along with individuals presented donations to 25 orphans living in Kampong Sungai Kedayan ‘B’.
