Final haj flight leaves

The Brunei International Airport was bustling as loved ones gathered to bid farewell to the prospective haj pilgrims on the fourth and final flight from Brunei on Sunday morning.

The flight, carrying 252 pilgrims, including officials from the Brunei Darussalam Haj Affairs Office (Medical) and Darussalam Services Sdn Bhd (DSSB), is scheduled to arrive in Madinah at 2.40pm local time.

Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman; Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) who is also Acting Minister of Health, Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof; and Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Mohammed Abdullah Al-Buraithin were present to bid the pilgrims farewell.

A ‘Doa Selamat’ was recited by Special Grade Mosque Affairs Officer Awang Haji Haris bin Haji Suboh, while the call to prayer (Azan) was performed by Officer at Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque Imam Haji Hamdini bin Haji Garif. – ADIB NOOR
