Thirty-year-old Filipino Verona Celiz Tabura embraced Islam as her new faith yesterday, reciting her Syahadah at a ceremony in Kampong Lugu.
She was guided by officers from the Dakwah Propagation Unit at the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI), and chose Nur Yasmeen Dania Tabura binti Abdullah as her new identity.
Between January to February this year, 70 individuals in the country have converted to Islam, with 29 from the Brunei-Muara District, said the PDI.
