Filipino woman embraces Islam

Filipina April Rose De Guzman Pantajo, 27, converted to Islam during a ceremony at Da’wah Unit Offices Belait District Branch recently.

The Syahadah was recited in the presence of officers from the Dakwah Dissemination Section of the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI).

April Rose took the Muslim name Siti Fatimah binti Pantajo.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by religious officer at the Da’wah Unit Muhammad Nur Aisamuddin bin Mohd Hanafi.

Head of the Da’wah Unit in the Belait District Norhayati binti Haji Abdul Rahman witnessed the conversion as the guest of honour.

The ceremony continued with the presentation of souvenirs and Doa Selamat recitation led by religious officer of the Da’wah Unit Muhd Rushdi bin Abdullah Jantan.

A total of 24 individuals converted to Islam in the Belait District this year.

Converts will undergo a 10-day course guidance on the Islamic identity at the Islamic Da’wah Centre.
