A 47-year-old Filipino man embraced Islam during a ceremony at the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) in Kampong Pulaie yesterday.
Castillo Romevic Gerios, now known as Muhammad Aiman Castillo bin Abdullah, began his journey as a Muslim with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the Syahadah.
The ceremony concluded with a presentation of souvenir to the new convert by PDI Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh followed with a dikir performance.
According to the PDI, 254 individuals converted to Islam in the Sultanate within the year. – Lyna Mohamad
