Some 10 teams from various organisations within the Filipino community in Brunei competed in the fifth Philippine Ambassador’s Cup Bowling Tournament at Utama Bowling Centre recently.
Philippines Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Marian Jocelyn R Tirol-Ignacio said, “The event, organised by the Filipino Bowlers’ Club (FBC), exemplifies the spirit of camaraderie and unity that defines our vibrant community and was felt very recently during Philippines President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr’s state visit to the Sultanate.”
FBC president Paul Mandid said the tournament “unites people from diverse backgrounds to celebrate our love for the sport”.
The ambassador opened the tournament with a ceremonial roll-off. Defence Attaché of the Philippines Embassy to Brunei Darussalam Colonel Garry L Atienza and FBC Board of Directors’ Irene Dava Badilla and Nida Lim were also present.
