The Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) will organise its fifth National Jamboree on December 2-7.
A press conference was held yesterday at its headquarters in Beribi, chaired by the PPNBD Public Relations Commissioner Muhammad Syahmi bin Halimshah and Acting Commissioner for Media and Information Technology Headquarters Muhammad Arman Jahran bin Abdullah Besi to share information and details of the jamboree.
The public relations commissioner said, “Early this year, PPNBD launched the Carnival 90 in conjunction with the nine decades of the scouting movement.”
He said the theme ‘Scouts on the Move’, showed the importance of activeness among the scouts, guided by the association’s values.
The jamboree will be held at Bukit Bendera in the Tutong District to commemorate the first state scouts camping in 1933 in the district.
It will be participated by local and foreign scouts.
Various events, including scouting skills, culture and games, sustainable development goals, visits, religious and routine activities and water activities, were outlined for the five-day jamboree. Government and private agencies as well as non-governmental organisations will also showcase their projects.
Registration to participate in the jamboree is open until October 31. Details can be obtained from PPNBD’s official website and social media. – Rokiah Mahmud
