The Tarannum Al-Quran Intermediate Course officiated at Multaqa Hall, Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday will provide exposure and development for the participants’ knowledge and practical disciplines including tone processing, intonation, rhythm and melody, MABIMS Centre for Al-Quran Studies and Dissemination Director Pengiran Haji Amiruddin bin Pengiran Haji Damit said.
He added the facilitators guiding the participants are Hajah Aminah binti Haji Abdul Manaf, Pengiran Adibul Amin bin Pengiran Haji Marjuki and Haji Mohd Noor bin Haji Ibrahim with the background and expertise in national and international Al-Quran reading competitions. Fifteen former Youth Al-Quran Reading Scheme (STAR) comprising 11 males and four females are participating in the course.
The director said the course focuses on young individuals who have mastered the basics of Tarannum Al-Quran through various platforms provided by STAR.
The course’s objective is to provide an opportunity for youth to deepen their knowledge of Tarannum Al-Quran through interactive learning with skilled and experienced facilitators.
It also aims to produce proficient and respected Al-Quran readers among youth, instil discipline and credibility, and develop and disseminate Tarannum Al-Quran knowledge from basic to professional levels.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan was the guest of honour.
The first sessions will be held tomorrow, August 11, 13 and 18, while the second sessions are scheduled for September 8, 10, 15, 17 and 22. It will be carried out every Friday and Sunday at Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran at Jalan Ong Sum Ping.
The annual Tarannum Al-Quran Intermediate Course is an annual activity organised by MABIMS Centre for Al-Quran Studies and Dissemination in collaboration with Islamic Studies Department, MoRA. – Rokiah Mahmud
