FIBA 3×3 circuit concludes in Belait District, winners head to Brunei-Muara

The finals of the FIBA 3×3 basketball tournament’s third circuit men’s open category saw Hisense Hvac dominate against Team DARK, winning 21-7.

Meanwhile, Sando was placed third as they won on a knife’s edge in the runners-up match against Petroteq, with a final score of 16-15.

Basketball teams made their way to the Belait District for the tournament held at the New Village Basketball Court, Seria, on Sunday.

Organised by the Brunei Basketball Association, in collaboration with the Tutong District Basketball Association and Belait District Basketball Association (BDBA), the tournament represents an ongoing competition where 12 teams compete in two categories, the men’s open and the under-18 (U-18) boys.

In the U-18 boys, Bluemambas faced Evo in the nail-biting finals, where both teams traded blows early on before Bluemambas secured a two-point lead in the final few minutes to win 13-11.

Meanwhile, Undergraduates was placed third-place in the match against CHMS White.

BDBA chairman Koo Kong Loi presented prizes and trophies to the teams. Having completed the third circuit in the Belait District, the top team from both categories will receive a free pass to compete in the fourth circuit of the tournament, slated for November 3 in the Brunei-Muara District.

The tournament began with the first circuit in the Brunei-Muara District on July 21 and continued to the Tutong District for the second circuit on August 18. – Daniel Lim
