I recently visited a public service counter and was shocked to find that the department was closed for an hour. While they didn’t specify the reason for the closure, I could see that there was a Raya gathering in the back office.
As a celebrant myself, I understand that these office functions are good for morale. But to do so without informing the public beforehand seemed a little irresponsible. I have a full-time job and scheduling a visit to the service counter requires some planning. So imagine my disappointment to find that I would have to come back another time.
I hope the authorities could be more mindful of the public when planning a gathering in the future.
