A farewell gathering was hosted by the diplomatic corps for the outgoing High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam Dato’ Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah at Radisson Hotel on Monday.
The outgoing high commissioner recalled his time in the country, noting that the Sultanate and Malaysia share similar roots, culture and language.
“Due to these similarities, I was able to undertake many activities and programmes during my tenure, including an inter-varsity pantun competition, laksa festival and Malay poetry recitals,” he added.
He said that during his tenure, there were also a flurry of high level visits and six bilateral agreements including the memorandum of understanding on cooperation in Syariah judiciary and the treaty on International Transfer of Prisoners.
He said his time in the Sultanate had been a rewarding and enriching experience.
