Farewell dinner honours three departing diplomats

A farewell dinner was held to honour three diplomats concluding their tenures in Brunei: Ambassador of the State of Kuwait Salah Al Mutairi; Ambassador of the Republic of France Bernard Régnauld-Fabre; and High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Major General (Rtd) Farhat Abbas Sani.

The event took place on Thursday night at The Radisson Hotel in the capital.

Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Gerda Winkler, in her welcoming remarks, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the significant contributions of the departing diplomats.

As a token of appreciation, Ambassador Winkler presented farewell gifts to Ambassador Salah Al Mutairi, Ambassador Bernard Régnauld-Fabre, and Major General Farhat Abbas Sani, along with a bouquet of flowers for the High Commissioner’s spouse.

In their parting speeches, the diplomats reflected on their experiences in Brunei, extending their thanks to their colleagues for the warm hospitality and cooperation they received during their time in the country. – FADLEY FAISAL
