Farewell dinner for outgoing envoy

Bangladesh High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Nahida Rahman Shumona hosted a farewell dinner for outgoing Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Dr Sujatmiko and spouse at Saffron Café on Wednesday.

The Bangladesh high commisioner said Dr Sujatmiko welcomed her warmly when she arrived in the Sultanate and helped her to learn about labour-related issues as both Bangladesh and Indonesia have a large number of unskilled workers facing similar challenges.

She also talked about the friendship they forged.

“Our children have also become friends. We have a beautiful bond among diplomats in Brunei, which is perhaps the effect of the Abode of Peace.”

The Ambassador of Qatar to Brunei Darussalam and spouse, Ambassador of Iran to Brunei Darussalam, Ambassador of Vietnam to Brunei Darussalam and spouse, Ambassador of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam, Ambassador of Lao to Brunei Darussalam, Ambassador-designate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam and spouse of the Turkiye Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam also attended the event.

Attorney General of Brunei Darussalam Dato Seri Paduka Haji Ahmad bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Diraja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa, Datin Hajah Faridah Hanim and Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong were also present.
