Family fun run during Bandarku Ceria

The Health Promotion Centre (HPC) under the Ministry of Health (MoH), in cooperation with Gleneagles Jerudong Park Medical Centre and Qaisara Dreams on Sunday hosted a family run as part of the Happy Environment and Lifestyle (HEAL) programme during Bandarku Ceria at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien.

Actress and commercial model from Malaysia Datin Lisa Surihani Mohamed was the guest of honour.

The main categories of the run were a three-kilometre (km) family run, the men’s 5km run and women’s 5km run.

There were also a host of activities for children and food vendors.The event aimed to encourage families to participate in more outdoor and indoor activities together. MoH hopes to promote a healthy lifestyle among the population and encourage public discussions on non-communicable diseases such as obesity, heart disease and cancer.  – James Kon
