The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) hosted its 162nd Munajat Night, a special session dedicated to women for the 19th time, on Saturday. The virtual gathering saw active participation from various women’s groups, including the Persatuan Gerakan Ibu Tunggal (Single Mothers Movement Association).
President of the association Dayang Norliha binti Haji Awang Besar led the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by a collective reading of Surah Ar-Rahman, led by Dayang Juhaida binti Haji Tahamit from Jerudong International Religious School.
The Doa Munajat was recited by Dayang Norain binti Haji Awang Othman, an Education Officer at the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College.
A highlight of the event was a spiritual talk titled “Appreciating Time with Family” delivered by Dayang Rossne binti Abdul Rahman, a Religious Development Officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre.
She emphasised the importance of family as a divine blessing, noting that spending quality time with loved ones is considered an act of worship in Islam.
“Caring for family members, especially guiding children to uphold faith and righteousness, is a shared responsibility,” she remarked.
The session continued with the recitation of Selawat Syifa, led by Dayang Lelyta binti Md Jenin from Kampong Mata-Mata Religious School. The event concluded with a collective Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara, invoking protection and blessings for Brunei Darussalam.
The virtual gathering attracted members of the association, mosque congregants, and female staff from MoRA and its departments. Participants also joined from their homes through an online platform.
Munajat Night aims to foster spiritual reflection and collective supplication, encouraging the public to seek forgiveness from Allah and pray for the well-being and safety of the nation. The event is open to all every Saturday night via the link https://tiny.cc/munajatkheuwanita.
