Brunei Darussalam national winger Faiq Jefri Bolkiah continued to gain more playing time for current club Chonburi FC in the Hilux Revo Thai League 1 this season.

The national forward made an appearance as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Bangkok United after replacing Rachata Moraksa three minutes from time at the Chonburi Stadium in Chonburi, Thailand last Saturday.

Faiq has previously made two consecutive league starts following inspiring form which saw him come close towards scoring his first goal.

The winger also completed a full match in the 2-1 defeat against BEC Tero Sasana.

He has so far registered two assists since making a move during the transfer window late last year.

The former Leicester City and Chelsea youth prospect made his senior professional debut earlier this year and has so far amassed eight league appearances during his first season in Thailand.

The 23-year old carved his name in the Sultanate’s history books after becoming the first player to represent a foreign club in a first-tier professional league.

Faiq and his teammates will look to get all three points during the visit to Chiangmai United in the league on March 4.

The national winger also has the Thai FA Cup in his thoughts against Bangkok United in the quarterfinals nine days later.
