The Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) further strengthened ties with the Qatar Football Association (QFA) through a goodwill meeting between the two presidents of the football association in Doha, Qatar.

FABD President Haji Feisal bin Haji Eusoff Patail and QFA President Jassim Rashid Al Buenain held discussions to cooperate more closely, especially in developing and improving the quality of Brunei football.

The FABD President was a special guest at the invitation and sponsorship of the QFA president at the Qatar Emir Cup 2024 final which saw Al Sadd win 1-0 over Qatar SC at the Education City Stadium.

The meeting also discussed opportunities to send national players to undergo training and hold friendly matches with the QFA team.

Haji Feisal said, “This meeting is the best platform for FABD and QFA to plan and exchange views to strengthen relations and further explore cooperation opportunities in various fields.” The meeting also discussed the effective ways to build a comprehensive approach for the grassroots and youth categories.

“With careful planning, it facilitates the effort to form an elite team and then be absorbed into the national team consistently and will certainly produce quality, systematic, responsible and disciplined players in training and facing matches,” the president said. – Fadhil Yunus
