Japanese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Maeda Toru received a courtesy visit on Sunday from the President of the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD) Haji Feisal bin Haji Eusoff Patail to strengthen and explore close cooperation in the development and progress of football in the two countries.
Expressing gratitude for Japan’s continued support in football training, finance and sports equipment, Haji Feisal sought further cooperation to improve the quality of football in the Sultanate.
The focus of the collaboration is to strengthen relationships in women’s football, grassroots development and senior football programmes.
FABD, under the leadership of Haji Feisal, aims to emulate the excellence of Japanese football in the next one to three years, while emphasising the commitment to repay Japan’s kindness. The meeting also outlined the intention to go along with Japan’s vision in the development of the sport.
“It was a very good meeting with the Japanese Ambassador and FABD is grateful for the encouraging outcomes,” said the FABD President. – Azlan Othman
