Exploring less crowded Ramadhan stalls for a hassle-free sungkai

For many, visiting Ramadhan stalls is a much-anticipated tradition during the fasting month, offering a variety of delicious treats to break their fast. However, the heavy traffic and limited parking at popular locations can be a deterrent for some, leading them to opt for home-cooked meals or online food orders instead.

For those who prefer a more relaxed Ramadhan shopping experience, there are less crowded alternatives that still offer an array of Sungkai delights. Among them are the Ramadhan stall opposite Kampung Bunut Mosque and the Bazaar Ramadhan 2025 at Bukit Kampung Mentiri Recreational Park.

The Kampung Bunut Ramadhan stall, an initiative by the Kampung Bunut Village Council, provides a selection of crowd-favorite dishes similar to those found at larger bazaars like Pasar Malam Gadong or the National Stadium. Vendors here offer a variety of grilled meats, noodles, fritters, fast food items such as burgers and roti John, as well as a range of refreshing drinks.

Meanwhile, the Bazaar Ramadhan 2025 at Bukit Kampung Mentiri Recreational Park, organised by the Kampung Mentiri Village Council, offers a spacious and less congested alternative. While it may be a further drive for some, the location provides ample parking space and a relaxed shopping environment. Vendors serve an enticing selection of food and drinks, and if the weather permits, some even set up seating areas for visitors to enjoy their meals on-site.

With these alternatives, visitors can still experience the vibrant Ramadhan bazaar atmosphere without the hassle of traffic and parking woes, making their sungkai preparations smoother and more enjoyable. – Lyna Mohammad
