The Maritime and Port Authority of Brunei Darussalam (MPABD) announced yesterday that there will be transportation of Barramundi fish in fibreglass tanks on barge from the broodstock development centre to Tanjung Pelumpong sea nursery site until January 15.
Mariners, especially fishermen, are required to keep clear (around 200 metres) from aquaculture cages in Tanjung Pelumpong and advised to navigate with extra caution when in the vicinity.
Failure to do so may be treated as an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding BND10,000 or imprisonment for no more than two years or both.
Barramundi Group (B) Sdn Bhd will be monitoring the operation, said MPABD in a statement yesterday.
Mariners are also informed of RAYBASE Sdn Bhd’s extension of temporary anchorage area in Muara port until March 31. – Azlan Othman
