Brunei Press Sdn Bhd yesterday received a visit from Philippine Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Marian Jocelyn R Tirol-Ignacio at its premises in Beribi.
Ambassador Tirol-Ignacio, who is affectionately known as Joy, comes from a family of publishers and journalists. As such, she believes that lending support to “Brunei Press’ business” is crucial in her diplomatic mission in the Sultanate.
She also shared the goals of her tenure with the Brunei Press team, including promoting the cultural similarities between Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines.
“When I first visited Kampong Ayer, I was immediately drawn it because it was so familiar to me as we have water villages in the Philippines too,” said the envoy. “It is definitely something our embassy wants to highlight.”
