Young Entrepreneur Association of Brunei (YEAB) and Baiduri Bank co-hosted the third Power Lunch Series on Trading Beyond Borders on June 2 at the Baiduri Bank headquarters. The event was a joint initiative between YEAB and Baiduri Bank that was launched in November 2022 to support entrepreneurs in navigating businesses challenges.
This is done by providing a safe space to openly share about business struggles and best practices in overcoming the challenges. It also cultivate collaborative culture with the goal of instilling confidence to entrepreneurs.
The Power Lunch Series will feature a quarterly gathering of entrepreneurs and invited key stakeholders from different sectors and industries.
The third series featured a discussion on ‘Trading Beyond Borders: Planting the Seeds’ which brought together over 40 industry leaders, entrepreneurs and representative from government agencies.
Facilitating the discussion was Confer Sdn Bhd Managing Director Allen Lai.
Among the attendees were Legislative Council member and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Co-Founder of Memori Yang Berhormat Chong Chin Yee, CEO of Ghanim International Corporation Dr Nur Rahman, Co-founder and Director of Digital Innovation and Growth Aimi Ramlee, and Muara Port Company Sdn Bhd Chief Operating Officer Fazilah bin Haji Yassin who shared their insights and experiences in doing or facilitating cross border trade.
Head of Business Banking, Baiduri Bank Mohd Isa Liew Mohd Amin Liew said, “I believe there is immense potential that lies within our micro, small, medium enterprises (MSMEs). They should also embrace international trade to propel growth. While we have made great strides in developing our domestic market, we must now set our sights beyond our borders. Trading beyond borders holds immense opportunities for our MSMEs, opening up new markets, attracting foreign investment, and fostering economic resilience.”
