Enlivening the last 10 nights of Ramadhan

Azlan Othman

Muslims are encouraged to enliven and intensify religious activities in the last 10 nights of Ramadhan by emulating Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who glorified the period by increasing pious acts, more than any other months to welcome Lailatul Qadar, Imams said during the Friday sermon yesterday.

“Lailatul Qadar is an extraordinary night rewarded by Allah the Almighty to the Ummah of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Such reward was not bestowed to other Ummah in the past,” Imams said.

“On that night, Allah the Almighty forgives the sins of those who perform pious acts with full faith. We should multiply our good deeds to reap priceless benefits.”

The exact date of Lailatul Qadar is unknown, thus creating the wisdom behind it for Ummah to put up efforts in increasing worship and good deeds every night of Ramadhan.

“However, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in a Hadith said to reap benefits of Lailatul Qadar is to find it on an odd night in the last 10 days of Ramadhan,” said Imams.

“Let us emulate the practice of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) such as in I’tikaf (seclusion). It is an act of performing continuous prayers and Zikir at the mosque for a prolonged period.”

Muslims are also advised to increase their pious acts by reciting Al-Quran, Zikir, Istighfar, and make Doa as well as giving more (sedekah).

“Muslims should grab the opportunity especially in the last 10 nights of Ramadhan with the hope that all pious and charitable acts in the holy month is accepted by Allah the Almighty.”
