Englishman Danny Peter George Crompton officially recited Syahadah after his decision to embrace Islam as his religious faith during a ceremony witnessed by officers from the Conversion Unit, Belait District Dakwah Unit on Sunday.
The 27-year-old recited his Syahadah in the presence of Religious Development Officer at the Belait District Dakwah Unit Nurhuwaina binti Mamud.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the conversion ceremony and concluded with a souvenir presentation as a welcome gift to the new convert by Nurhuwaina.
A Doa Selamat was recited to bless the ceremony.
Since August 31, a total of 303 people have converted to Islam in the Sultanate, 58 of which are in the Belait District.
