The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports held a dialogue session with Legislative Council (LegCo) members and a visit to two departments under the ministry recently.
The events were conducted separately: the morning session at Digadong Hall focused on the Community Development Department (JAPEM), while the session at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium’s conference hall was dedicated to the Youth and Sports Department.The visit to the JAPEM included briefings from the General Welfare Assistance Division, the Call Centre and the Senior Citizens and Pensions Division.
JAPEM Acting Director Siti Zaharah binti Haji Abdul Razak highlighted the importance of building strategic networks and partnerships with government and non-governmental agencies to support the well-being of those in need.
The dialogue with the Youth and Sports Department featured briefings from the Sports Science Research and Medical Centre, the Youth Hub and the Sports Gallery.
Director of Youth and Sports Hajah Umi Kalthum binti Haji Abdul Karim discussed efforts and achievements in sports.
The dialogue sessions provided insights and advice from LegCo members, guiding improvements and strengthening programmes that impact the government’s goals. – James Kon
