Brunei Fertilizer Industries Sdn Bhd (BFI) hosted its first turnaround (TA) stakeholder engagement session at Sungai Liang Industrial Park (SPARK), bringing together key stakeholders and community members to provide a comprehensive briefing on the company’s TA activities scheduled for August.
The session, attended by government officials and neighbouring community members, served as a vital platform to inform and engage them on the objectives, timelines, and operational scope of the upcoming TA. Attendees were presented with an overview of key dates, manpower involvement, and BFI’s strategies to minimise any potential impact on the surrounding community.
BFI highlighted that the TA – a planned, large-scale maintenance and inspection period – is a crucial part of the company’s commitment to operational excellence, safety and long-term sustainability. The session outlined the scale of the TA, which will involve a number of personnel, including both internal BFI staff and external contractors.
Key dates in BFI’s TA timeline include a plant shutdown planned for July 28, with the major work scope period commencing from August 1. Planned start-up activities will begin on August 23 and the plant is expected to return to normal operations by September 1.
