Religious activities have reduced in the endemic phase, said Religious Development Officer at the Dakwah Unit of Temburong District Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) Haji Hazimin bin Haji Metali from Kampong Pelambayan Mosque during Munajat on Saturday night.
“Muslims should always remember Allah the Almighty, whether facing hardship or sadness, or when they are happy,” he said during a religious talk on ‘New Normal in Endemic Phase’.
The faithful are reminded to not just remember Allah the Almighty when they are suffering.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, Muslims regularly asked Allah the Almighty for help to end the outbreak,” said Haji Hazimin. “Allah the Almighty should not have to ‘warn’ the believers as He did in March 2020 and August 2021 during the first and second waves of the COVID-19 outbreak.”
Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin as patron of Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque was in attendance.
Kampong Pelambayan Mosque congregants, students and teaching staff of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB), Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque youth group and Ministry of Religious Affairs staff and family members were also present.
Co-advisor of Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque Takmir Committee in Mukim Kilanas Dato Paduka Haji Saifon bin Haji Awang Besar led the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah.
Surah Yaasiin, Doa Munajat, Asmaa Ul-Husna and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam were also recited.
Munajat night invites the faithful to read verses of Al-Quran, pray, recite Zikir and Istighfar, seek forgiveness, protection, mercy and blessings from Allah the Almighty.
It was also aimed at praying for the people of Brunei Darussalam to be spared calamities while achieving success in curbing the spread of COVID-19.
